Bedrock Inn
Music policy - Assorted events throughout
the week. This bar is themed like something
out of the 'Flintstones'. Its the most garishly
decorated bar in Cyprus and is well worth
a visit because you are guaranteed a good
time. Food is also served here and the drinks
are well represented. This is the feeder
bar for the wackier club nights on the island
so expect to see afro puffs and flares in
the house.
Alexander
Bar
Music policy - house and garage. This bar
serves up great cocktails and tequilas.
Be prepared to stagger out of this venue
in search of the next party. If you're lucky
and manage to fall arse over tits at the
right time your picture might join the hundreds
already on the walls.
Faces Bar
Faces bar is both a stylish bar and club
rolled into one. Is has a very good sound
system that pumps out mainly garage through
the week. When the bar closes at about 2am
the club opens in the basement which if
you go in straight away is free. In 2000
it was run by MASH promotions but I'm not
sure who's running things this year. Either
way it is well worth checking out as this
was a favourite while we were out there.
Buzz Bar
This bar was established in 1998 and is
now visited by tourists and celeb's alike.
There are lots of visiting UK Dj's guesting
at the bar. Football stars hit the bar on
a regular basis when in Ayia Napa. The theme
is based around the Union Jack. It doesn't
play any garage but still is a great bar
to visit and is open to about 2pm
Bar Bazzar
This bar was smashing the garage tunes out
through till 1.30 and is situated opposite
Napa dreams bar just up the square. Well
worth going to if you are into garage music
feat. some very good DJ's and MC's
Nissi Bay Café Bar
This is the place to go in the day with
Garage tunes pumping while watching over
the beach. Best of all a bottle of Heineken
is only C£1.60. Located just off from
the main strip
Dive Inn
This place is very trendy and its main features
include fishtank walls, and good music all
day and all night. On Thursday night it
holds Miss Moneypennys and has Stella on
draught!
Minos Pub
This bar you cant miss and always packed
solid. Its located directly in the centre
of the square. Make sure you check out the
DJ booth which when I went was a front end
of a car!
Bull Dog
Music policy - 60's and 70's. This is another
feeder bar for the funky clubs, (which goes
to prove that its not all garage in the
town. Frequented by English holiday makers
it gets rowdy but good natured. You can
get passes for the funky events from here
also. Expect to see the old afro puff or
flares in the house.
Marinellas Bar
Music policy - R'n'B and UK Garage. This
is one of the venues for getting lashed
on the island. The famous barbar chair and
the fantastic view of the square ensure
that this bar is always crammed full of
tourists. The music policy is spot on and
gets you in the mood for a good night out.
It is worth checking out for the view alone.
Organ Grinder Pub
Music policy - House but with a very mellow
vibe. This English Pub serves pints, so
it should be worth checking out, for the
quality control check. If you stagger out
a few hours later it should get a thumbs
up. And if you like house music then you
should be in heaven.
Drive Bar (Harbour)
Music policy - live music and jazz. Decorated
with a rather large sharks head, this bar
offers a variety of snacks and drinks to
chill and listen to the music while you
slowly get drunk.
