How long have you been
singing for? I have been
singing since the age of 9,
I have always been musical!
How did u get into the
whole Garage scene & Singing?
When I was 13 I got into the
garage scene, I would go all
the under 18's raves and I
loved speed garage, but I
also liked pop music just
as much, But I kinda just
grow out of that! When I was
14 for a xmas present my parents
paid for me to go into a record
studio to record a demo(I
still have it and I sound
like a chipmonk)! HA HA! To
be honest no one really knew
if i had a talent or not because
only my family had heard me
sing, and they are bias! HA
HA! When I had finished the
cd the producer rung up my
mum and said "If Hollie is
like this now, When she is
older the sky is the limit".
So my parents decided to put
a advert in 'The Stage' to
get pop songs, We got hundreds
and I choose the best 3 and
recorded them! When I was
15 I choose to study GCSE
Music, in the two years I
studied it, I was learning
how to write and read Music.
At that point in my life I
loved Garage its was my life
so I decided to write a garage
song for one of my GCSE exam
pieces. And because I was
also working at recording
studio instead of taking all
my GCSE's, I learnt alot about
producing. So with the help
of the other producer, I produced
the song(Very bad tho)! HAHA!
It come out so good that I
decided that I should take
it too some Garage producers,
So I took it to BM Dubs and
they loved it and loved one
of the songs on the demo (No
Reason)! And as they say the
rest is history....
Who
was your inspiration/s?
I must say that Speed Garage
producers were, they made
me love Garage and want that
to be a part of my life! I
Love MJ Cole I like the soul
in his tunes which I have
in one of my tunes! And Sunship
are the best producers ever!
I also rate Todd Edwards!
So Solid have made me want
to go commerical because its
proved there's a big market
for it!
What would you be doing
if you wasn't a Singer?
I would be a hairdresser or
beautician! I cost my dad
fortune on my hair, nails
and going on sunbed!!!!! HAHA!
What
do you think of the commercialisation
of UK Garage? I think
its all good, because the
bigger Garage gets, the more
chances up n coming talents
get! I do think its wrong
when you hear artists like
Britney Spears and Destiny's
Child are releasing Garage
songs, For goodness sake give
us the real Garage Lovers
a chance! I rate MJ Cole and
Artful Dodger because they
have been working in the Garage
Scene for years and have put
in alot of work, so not only
do thet deserve respect, the
sound they produce is orginal.
Alot of people cuss So Solid
and all I can say is 'STOP
WITH THE JEALOUSLY' ! If you
had the chance you would be
doing the same! Nuff said!
Favourite Garage Tune of
