Just nineteen
years of age, Dizzee Rascal is tearing up
all the rule books and setting the music world
alight with his raw talent. His thought-provoking
lyrics, distinctively piercing and poignant
delivery, and original production have made
him one of the hottest new stars of the urban
scene, and yet one impossible to pigeonhole.
Influenced by the varied music he grew up
listening to, from the ghetto-fabulous sounds
of US hip-hop and R'n'B, the home-grown sounds
of drum'n'bass and UK garage, to bands such
as Sepultura, Nirvana and Sham 69, Dizzee
Rascal is the voice of a brand new British
sound. His debut album 'Boy in da Corner'
has recently won the Mercury Music Award. |
