MC Bubbles

How long have you been MCing?I have been MC'ing for just over 4 years. DJ'ing for nearly a year.

How did you get started? I got into the music scene through friends @ school and through my older family members who influenced me. I started at a really young age to write short songs, but for some reason could never finish them! From around 15 I knew I wanted to do something in the music scene. I wanted to DJ however the mic was cheaper than the decks. The lyrics started and continued to flow. I never took the MC'ing seriously until I was asked to go on a north London radio station. I was brought a pair of decks (no not Technics 1210's unfortunately!), in December 2000, and started to spin my vinyl.

Who was your inspiration/s? My inspirations vary from family and friends to those musical artists already on the scene. Also encouragement from people on the radio station from live callings.

What would you be doing if you weren't a MC? Well erm, I dunno! Maybe journalism, or owning a music shop. I'm multi-talented; it's just too hard to say!.

What do you think about the commercialisation of UK Garage? It was garage from 92-95 that had an impact on me, which compared to know is well different. I'm happy for those people making their dough in commercialisation, as long as they don't forget the roots of the music. I don't mind commercialisation if its done in the proper manner.

What other sort of music are you into? I'm an urban lady, a street chick. I like R'n'B, Soul, Jungle, D'n'B, Ragga and much more.

FavouriteFavourite Garage Tune of all time? Never Gonna Let you go - Tina Moore - Dub Mix) & Industry Standard - Vol 1 .

Favourite Garage Tune at the moment? So many but probably: It ain't enough - Sticky Remix - Public Demand.

Any advice for up and coming MCs? Be careful, the world is getter tougher, so your lyrics better me rougher. For the DJ on the Decks, play the tunes to make mans flex. Oh and be original.

Any Residencys? *These are not residencies* Passion Fm 91.8, Award winning Y2k 90.6, UK-rumble.co.uk .

Any Shout Outs? Everyone reading this, everyone @ Release the Groove, Virgin Megastore & V.Shop, family, friends, all @ UK-Rumble, all radio stations, Gaz & Sam. Everyone I've left out!.
