How
long have you been MCing? 9
years. The first 6 with Drum & Bass/Hardcore, the last
three involving garage.
How
did you get started? In a barn, in a field,
M.C'ing through a pair of headphones. It was really
shit but it got the ball rolling.
Who
was your inspiration/s? In the early day's
it was The Ratpack. I caught them at Shaftsburys years
ago & they just blew me away. Also people like, M.C
Conrad, The Raga Twins, Shut up & Dance, Alex Reece,
Goldie, The London Posse. It was M.C GQ who made me
want to sit down & write decent lyrics.
What
would you be doing if you weren't a MC? Anything
that didn't involve working in an office.
What
do you think about the commercialisation of UK Garage?
On the one hand it's a good thing seeing
our own D.J's/ M.C's/ Promoter's become successful.
It's nice to know that the music we make is good enough
to be played on the radio or get in the charts. On the
flip side, when a type of music draws in a big audience
& a lot of money, it also attracts sharks out to make
a quick buck, rip people of, or make crap music. At
the moment there are to many garage nights & it's thining
the crowds.
What
other sort of music are you into? Drum
& Bass, RnB anything really.
Favourite
Club/Venue?
S'Paradice, classy club.
FavouriteFavourite
Garage Tune of all time? A track called "Tell
Me". Don't know who produced it.
Favourite
Garage Tune at the moment? "I Gotta Get Through
This" Daniel Beddingfield
Any
advice for up and coming MCs? Be patient.
Be original.
Any
Residencys? Garage
Nation, One Nation, Garage Sensation, Garage Connection,
Garage Influance.
Any
Shout Outs? Too many so I won't bother.
